Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was due to lead his players in a training session at the JJB Stadium today after the club hired a snow plough.
Martinez believes the home game against Blackburn on Boxing Day will go ahead after the match with Bolton on Monday was postponed because of the bad weather.
He said: "The pitch is in great condition and we are going to train on it today.
"We all hope the weather is going to ease off and are confident the game will go ahead.
"It is very frustrating when you get a postponement especially after our last three games when we did not get the points our performances deserved.
"But it was the right decision as the safety of our fans was the big issue. Now we are desperate to get on the pitch and play another home game."
