ROMA coach Claudio Ranieri paid tribute to Mirko Vucinic after the striker ended his goalscoring drought this afternoon in the club's 2-1 comeback win over Bologna.
The Giallorossi halted a three-match losing streak as Vucinic notched his first Serie A goal of the campaign, a first-half equaliser, before Simone Perrotta hit a second-half winner.
"I told Mirko in the changing rooms that if he has scored it means that the wind has changed," joked Ranieri.
"Vucinic has been perfect today with regards to determination and continuity just as he has been in the past."
With Roma's top scorer Francesco Totti sidelined with a knee injury, much has been expected from Vucinic.
However, the Montenegrin forward had failed to deliver in the opening 10 games before today.
"The most important thing is not that I have scored but that we have won," said Vucinic.
"We need this win like bread.
"After Bologna had taken the lead we had bad thoughts but we did well to react and to take all three points.
"But we need to continue to train."
The result lifted Roma five points clear of the drop zone.
Vucinic did admit, however, that his profligacy in front of goal had been a burden.
"The fact that I wasn't able to score was a problem for me, for my family and for my friends," he said.
Roma host Fulham on Thursday in the Europa League before travelling to the San Siro to face Serie A leaders Inter Milan on Sunday.
