The 25-year-old Switzerland international defender has signed a four-year contract after passing a medical on Monday.

Chief executive officer Mike Schussler stated on the club's official website: "We had always said that, if an opportunity were to present itself for us to further improve the quality of our squad, without veering off budget, we would act, I'm therefore very pleased that Timm Klose has chosen to join us."

Klose will be reunited with former Nuremberg coach Dieter Hecking at Wolfsburg.

Hecking added: "I'm delighted that Timm is going to strengthen our team. He's matured extremely well in recent years and brings with him everything a central defender needs."

Klose made 45 Bundesliga appearances during his two seasons at Nuremberg and has represented Switzerland six times.

Of his move, Klose said: "This move to Wolfsburg is an important step in my career, I'm really looking forward to this new sporting challenge and I'll give everything to ensure we can be successful as a team."
