Wolverhampton have lodged an appeal against the red card received by Nenad Milijas in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Tuesday.
The Serbian midfielder was sent off during the second half of the Premier League clash at the Emirates following a tackle on Mikel Arteta.
Wolves needed to notify the FA of their decision to appeal by Wednesday, and will now build a case against the decision, with the governing body set to reach a verdict before Mick McCarthy's side face Bolton on New Year's Eve.
Following the game, McCarthy insisted he believed Milijas won the ball and was unfairly dismissed.
