While only the truly diehard fans care about these A League games, the players still have everything to play for.
Jem Karacan - 7
If Central Coast had have had him from the start of the season things might have been different. He was calm, confident and classy in the midfield.
Stephen Mallon - 6.5
Good showing from the loanee. He needed to get a bit more of the ball but he was direct and dangerous when he did get it.
Andrew Hoole - 7
He created a lot of good chances tonight and just needed his team to keep their cool a bit more.
Connor Pain - 7.5
Excellent header for the Mariner’s first goal. He’s been in good form this season but he’s found that form in a bad team.
Matt Simon - 3
He’s just not quite up to the pace of the game and this fuels his frustration. He talked his way into the referee’s notebook and spent the night raging against the injustice of Stephen Lucas’s oppressive regime.
He should have scored several times but couldn’t find the corners. He deserved a penalty or two but didn’t win over his nemesis. Finally the frustration saw him see red.

Jordan Murray 6
Came off the bench and found the back of the net. It will be interesting to see how the Mariners look with him up front instead of Simon.
