Not only will Farina be without captain Craig Moore following his call-up to the Socceroos for the international friendly against the Netherlands in Sydney - which will be played a day before the Roar-Gold Coast clash in Brisbane on Sunday - but Brazilian midfielder Henrique has been ruled out for up to two months with a knee injury sustained during Saturday night's 2-1 loss to Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium.

Roar also face a nervous wait ahead of FFA's match review panel findings on Tuesday.

Roar's clash with Victory was a spiteful affair with much of the hostility centred around former Brisbane player Robbie Kruse, who was playing against his old side for the first time having recently signed with Melbourne.

Experienced Brisbane midfielder Charlie Miller was caught on video collecting Kruse high with a round-arm off the ball while veteran Roar hardman Danny Tiatto was also involved in an off-the-ball clash with the 20-year-old in the first half - which sparked a push and shove between just about every player on the field.

Tiatto was later caught raising his finger to the Melbourne crowd after the incident, which could also land him in hot water with FFA.

And all this after captain Moore had criticised Kruse in the lead-up to the game questioning his fitness and discipline.

After the game Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick expressed disbelief at what he believed was a deliberate targeting of Kruse by the Roar players.

"I was a bit surprised by some comments in the paper, some behaviour," Merrick said. "I don't know why that was.

"He (Kruse) is a nice lad, he is 20-years of age and he has got bags of talent and it was good to see him under that adversity perform so well."

Kruse certainly had the last laugh because it was a foul on him which led to the free-kick that Victory defender Adrian Leijer scored the winning goal from in the 72nd minute to send the reigning A-League champions to the top of the ladder for the first time this season.

But Farina and Moore hit back saying Kruse had fuelled the bad blood by his behaviour since leaving Roar.

"If anything you should talk to young Robert about that and about some of the text messages he sent to the (Roar) boys leading up to the game," Farina said.

Moore then added sarcastically: "He (Kruse) obviously gained a lot of friends at Roar while he was there."

Farina said he was confident the fiery Tiatto would escape punishment over his one-fingered salute to the crowd.

"They (the Melbourne crowd) expect that down here from Danny don't they," he said. "Didn't he do that down here last year and nothing happened?"

With Roar desperate to avenge their opening round loss to newcomers Gold Coast - who have gone off the boil after three successive wins to start their debut season in taking just five points from their past six matches - Farina admits it will be tough taking on their neighbours without Moore.

"But Gold Coast have the same problem without Jason (Culina) and (star striker Shane)Smeltz," he said.

That pair will also be on international duty this weekend with Australia and New Zealand respectively but while Roar face the prospect of being without several senior players for the big clash against Gold Coast, they will at least welcome back their trio of young Socceroos representatives from international duty in Mitch Nichols, Luke DeVere and Tommy Oar.
