The centre half returned from international duty and was thrown straight back into the fray, stifling the Wolves attack in a goalless draw at Deepdale.

Speaking to the club website post match Wright said: "It felt like yesterday since I made my debut.

"I knew the other week that I was coming up to my 200th appearances but then I forgot all about it until just now. It's been a good ride and to get to my 200th appearance today is good and hopefully there's more to come."

It was a big match on a number of fronts with New Wolves boss Paul Lambert beginning his reign at the club with an away point.

Wright added: "We had our chances to win the game and as you can see they were happy with the point.

"We've had the International break and it was important for us to get the win but we just didn't quite get the three points but we'll work hard this week and prepare for our next game."

But the 24-year-old felt it was an opportunity missed for the 11th-placed Lilywhites who created enough chances to walk away with the win.

"You could see right from the start of the game that they were here to make it difficult for us,” he told pnefc.net.

“Credit to them that they worked hard, chased and made it hard for us to try and get in our rhythm, but even so, we deserved something from it, but when a new manager comes in and puts his imprint on the team it makes it difficult for us but we move on."

Wright was part of a week-long Socceroos camp but didn't get on the pitch in Australia's disappointing 2-2 draw with Thailand in Bangkok last week.

The defender was among a number of players getting regular game time with their clubs who were bypassed in favour of some under-done stars.
