Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed Kerem Bulut will return to the club – but only initially on trial.
Wanderers confirmed to FourFourTwo that the enigmatic 24-year-old, who spent six months with the club last year, had not signed a contract yet, contrary to reports.
However the club said Bulut, who scored five goals in nine appearances in red and black from January to June in 2015, would start training with Wanderers next week.
Bulut is available as a free agent after leaving Greek club Iraklis following an underwhelming new contract offer.
The former Young Socceroos hitman only managed one goal in 17 appearances for the Greek Super League outfit.
Wanderers are eager to bolster their attacking options following the departures of Mark Bridge, Dario Vidosic, Federico Piovaccari and Romeo Castelen.
The A-League runner-up has brought in several players this off-season but most are defensive minded, with the exception of Japanese midfielder Jumpei Kusukami and Steve Lustica
Wanderers have added Robbie Cornthwaite, Aritz Borda, Jerrad Tyson and Bruno Pinatares during the off-season.
Tony Popovic’s side has one visa spot vacant on their roster for the 2016/17 season.
