Socceroos hopeful Kwame Yeboah netted his maiden goal for new club Paderborn in Germany’s 3.Liga overnight, but it may be too little, too late.
The 23-year-old former Brisbane Roar forward joined Paderborn on loan from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach in January.
Yeboah scored Paderborn’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Magdeburg, netting in the 63rd minute from Phillip Tietz’s assist.
The strike is the former Australia youth international’s maiden goal at senior level since moving to Germany in 2014, but comes one day after Bert van Marwijk’s first Socceroos squad announcement.
Yeboah had pressed for first-team opportunities at Moenchengladbach this term, making a handful of appearances in pre-season.

He had appeared in the Moenchengladbach matchday squad twice this season, but was largely relegated to the side’s second team playing in Regionalliga West, where he scored 10 goals in the 2016-17 campaign.
The Gold Coast-born attacker eventually pushed for a loan move in January to boost his international prospects ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Yeboah has made five appearances for Paderborn, with Tuesday’s appearance representing his first full 90 minutes for his new club.
