Rojas was the 2009 winner and he took full advantage of the experience to become an Under 20 player at Phoenix and went on to make his A-League debut.

Fans will have the chance to both nominate and vote for their favoured scholarship recipient.

Nominations must be emailed to scholarship@yellowfever.co.nz while voting will take place on the Yellow Fever forums. Candidates need to be New Zealanders and young enough to qualify as Phoenix youth players. They may be male or female.

Voting will take place on www.yellowfever.co.nz to establish a shortlist of candidates. When fan voting is finished, Wellington Phoenix and All Whites coach Ricki Herbert and a Yellow Fever representative, will select a Scholarship winner from the shortlist.

Nominations are expected to close this Friday (April 9).
