Jamie Young offered an interesting perspective on football after Melbourne City's 4-1 thrashing of Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park. Whether it's enough to sate irate Roar fans, however, remains to be seen.
After a cagey opening City eventually took the lead through Rostyn Griffith's 27 minute opener.
Despite, or perhaps due to, conceding through a Harrison Delbridge own-goal, City sprung to life and notched further goals through Shayon Harrison, Ritchie de Laet and Riley McGree to sound out a comprehensive victory.
It's a drought-breaker for City who much needed the win heading into a tense run into finals, but one Tottenham Hotspur loanee Harrison insists he's thoroughly enjoying.
"Very good result, our aim was to come out here and put a show on for the fans and we're delighted here today," Harrison said.
"I'm really enjoying it, just looking to help the team and away from the football pitch I'm really enjoying Melbourne as well.
On these last few games it's important to develop as much momentum as we can and t's a great start but we're got to keep going from here.
Brisbane, meanwhile, look stricken under interim coach Darren Davies and already looking forward to a future rumoured to be under former Liverpool and A-League striker Robbie Fowler.
"It's frustrating of course when you consider the history of the club, we all have to look at ourselves, collectively and individually," Jamie Young said.
"How do I maintain motivation? People can't even walk in life, people can't use their eyes. To play football is a privilege, especially for this club. That's how I stay motivated."
