The thunder and lighting that threatened to delay the start of play did nothing to throw the Westfield Young Matildas off their game. The first four goals were scored in the opening 14 minutes; but they did not stop there, with a further six goals fired in before the half time break.

The Westfield Young Matildas continued to combine well with a steady stream of goals continuing through the second half right up to the 92nd minute.

Head coach Alen Stajcic proved the depth of talent available in the squad by selecting a different starting line up to their first match on Wednesday which saw the Young Matildas defeat Chinese Taipei 0-3.

“It was a good steady and professional performance by the players today,” said Stajcic.

“They made the most of their opportunities with the better execution of play predominantly coming in the front third.

“Despite today’s final score, I hope to see continuing improvement for our next matches.”

The Westfield Young Matildas will meet IR Iran on Wednesday, followed by Thailand on Friday 7 November.
