THE YOUNG Socceroos have booked their place in the U20 World Cup with a thrilling extra time win over United Arab Emirates in the U19 AFC Championships tonight.
Despite going down to ten men late in the game, the youngsters held on to their 4-2 lead after UAE fought back to 2-2 after 90 minutes to force the match into extra time.
But goals from Leckie and Fletcher sealed the win, even after Dylan McGowan's dismissal for his second yellow.
The win also books Australia's place in the semi-finals of the U19 Asian Cup.
