Defender Gianluca Zambrotta admits Barcelona were not at their attacking best during their Copa del Rey last-16 second leg with Sevilla - but insists getting through was the main thing.
Barca played out a goalless home draw against Sevilla on Tuesday night, a result which meant their 1-1 first leg result at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan was enough to send Frank Rijkaard's side through on the away goals rule.
However, holders Sevilla can feel a little unlucky to have seen the defence of their title come to an end at the Nou Camp, with Zambrotta admitting: "It is true that Sevilla have played better than Barca but the important thing was to get through. We were well focused, with the right mentality in a compact defence.
"We have played a little deep but the important thing was the result, though we had to suffer a little."
Barca midfielder Xavi praised his side's defence for helping the Catalan giants making it through to the last eight.
"The team did a great job in defence and showed they know how to get a job done," he said on his club's website.
"The most important thing is to stay in it. It was a do-or-die game and we're happy because we are in the quarter-finals."
