The in-form frontman has alerted a host of top European clubs including Juventus and AC Milan after banging in the goals for the Sicilians since coming back from a cruciate ligament injury.

Zamparini revealed Palermo would not stand in Amauri's way if he wanted a move, pouring cold water on reports he is to offer the 27-year-old 2.5 million euros a year.

"That's not true at all," he told Italian sports daily Gazzetta Dello Sport. "I don't know who started these rumours.

"I haven't put any ban on Amauri going to AC Milan either, because there hasn't even been any offers - neither from the Rossoneri nor from Juventus.

"I know only that some foreign clubs are interested in him but until June nothing will happen. Of course we will do everything to keep him here.

"The rumours about my players are whispers that offend me and the supporters. Palermo is not a feeder club to the big teams."

Some reports last week suggested Juventus have even agreed a deal for Amauri's signature and the striker admitted it would be "an honour" to play for the Old Lady.

"I would love to play with (Alessandro) Del Piero and (David) Trezeguet but playing with Kaka would be the pinnacle too," he said. "They're absolutely in a class of their own.

"Juve is Juve, Milan are champions of the world, Kaka is European and world footballer of the year. I would be honoured."
