The former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid winger made his last international appearance in Brazil's quarter-final loss to France at last summer's World Cup.

Ze Roberto, 32, is in good form for his club side in the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa Libertadores, but said his focus is no longer on pulling on the national-team shirt.

"I'm happy with praise, but it's time to watch some new players," he remarked.

"We have just lost a World Cup and it is time to renew (the national team)."

Defeat in Germany brought in a new coach, Dunga, and a host of new, younger players as Brazil rebuilds towards the next World Cup in South Africa in 2010.

It is a policy Ze Roberto, who made his Brazil debut in 1995, backs wholeheartedly, although he would not object if his experienced head is required at some point on the road to the finals.

"Dunga should be very happy with the job he is doing," he added.

"By the next World Cup, I will be 36 years old. I don't know if I will be in my best physical form. To play a World Cup, players should be at the top of their game.

"If it (a call up) it happens, I would be happy, but I'm not thinking about it now."
