ALGERIA star Karim Ziani has leapt to the defence of under-fire captain Yazid Mansouri, hitting out at supporters who have criticised the veteran midfielder.
Mansouri has been roundly booed and jeered by Algerian fans disappointed by his performances of late.
Ziani told Le Buteur: "Honestly, the supporters' reaction has really disappointed me, even more so because Yazid really doesn't deserve this.
"It's disgraceful behaviour and not at all respectful, above all when only a few days separate us from the start of the World Cup.
"I was really affected, I won't hide that from you."
Algeria kick off their World Cup campaign against Slovenia on June 13, before coming up England and then the United States in Group C.
