The Brazil legend will replace Valeri Gazzaev who left CSKA at the end of the Russian season.

Zico has come to an agreement with Bunyodkor to release him from his contract and the 55-year-old flew to Moscow last night to finalise details with the Russian giants.

"I am travelling to sign the contract with CSKA," Zico told Globoesporte.com. "I expect to sign, but there are still some small details missing that will be resolved in Moscow.

"I can only speak as coach of the club once the paper is signed."

Zico has a good coaching record, having guided Fenerbahce to the Turkish league and Super Cup titles in 2007 before reaching the Champions League quarter-finals in 2008, where they were beaten by Chelsea.

He only joined Bunyodkor in September.

The former Japan coach's first game in charge of CSKA will be against Aston Villa in the UEFA Cup.
