Zico is poised to be named coach of Uzbekistan's Bunyodkor after confirming a "verbal agreement" has been reached.
The former Brazil international, who left Turkey's Fenerbahce in June, is set to join up with compatriot Rivaldo in Tashkent as a successor to Mirdjalal Kasimov, who is to become the Uzbekistan national team coach.
Zico announced the deal to join Bunyodkor, formerly Kuruvchi, on his official website, www.ziconarede.com.br.
"We've reached a verbal agreement with the club directors and I am taking off later today to sign my contract," said Zico, who may assist Kasimov with the national team in a consultancy role.
"I will reveal more details when I arrive there."
The 55-year-old, who led Japan to the 2004 Asian Cup, appeared in three World Cups for the Selecao and was considered among the greatest players of his generation.
