FRANCK Ribery remains a target for Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane admitted he was in talks with the France playmaker.
Zidane is an advisor to big-spending president Florentino Perez, who recently returned for a second spell at the Bernabeu.
Perez has already snapped up Kaka from AC Milan and agreed a world-record £80million fee with Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo, but it seems he is also keen on taking Bayern Munich star Ribery to the Spanish capital.
Zidane told French newspaper Le Dauphine Libere that he was in "discussions" with the former Marseille man, adding: "He is a splendid player who would fit in well at Real Madrid.
"To play in this team represents a wonderful chance in the career of any player and one, in my opinion, they should not refuse.
"After Munich, it would be a fantastic chance for Franck. It is up to him."
Former Madrid player Zidane is happy to have returned to the club, although he admits he is still finding his feet.
"Florentino took me on as I know the club well," he added.
"For the moment, I am there to learn. Over the next year we will see how it goes in order to define a more precise role."
