Zokora, 27, will reach three figures if he features against Hull but he is yet to hit the target, despite shaving the post against Wisla Krakow in the UEFA Cup this week.

That game took him one past the 98 appearances it took for Arsenal's John Jensen to hit the target, with both midfielders assuming cult status at the rival clubs for their woeful scoring records.

"I don't know what I'm going to do or what my reaction will be if I score my first goal," Zokora said.

"All my team-mates were telling me before the Wisla game that this was the day that I was going to score my first goal.

"Of course, I really thought I was going to score against Wisla and it would have been an important goal for the team. At the end of that match though the most important thing was qualification to the next stage of the UEFA Cup.

"I'm really confident, we didn't play well for a few games but against Wisla we did well and we want to build on it."

Spurs have yet to win a league match this season and are bottom of the table heading into the weekend, which Zokora revealed has angered his team-mates.

"Of course we are very angry," he said.

"We just want to help the team and when you are not playing very well you have to show your character, you are angry because you want to play and push the opposition.

"When you win it is easy, but it is when you lose that you want to work harder to put it right.

"The team needs confidence. Qualification in the UEFA Cup is the most important thing because we needed to play very well. Now we have to try against Hull on Sunday."

Zokora previously outlined his ambitions to break into the top four but he is waiting for the club to build momentum before he assesses what they can achieve this year.

"This is hard to say," he said.

"The season has been difficult so far but if we win a few games it changes. I can't speak about the second half of the season - I just want to try to win every game and be up for every challenge.

"In the next few games we will know, and Sunday will be one of the best tests - we play at home against a confident team."

Kick-starting their season may not include Zokora finding the net on a regular basis - he may be desperate for his first Spurs goal but it is simply not in his game to shoot on sight.

"When I'm on the pitch I normally look for my team-mates, I tend not to look to score the goals," he said.

"If we get three points then I'm always happy. But as a midfielder you need to score. It is important for me to do that."
