Gianfranco Zola declared he has no intention of quitting West Ham after denying he is under pressure to sell players.
Zola is reported to be considering his future in response to demands by the Hammers' bankrupt Icelandic owners to trim the squad.
England defender Matthew Upson is the main target for rival Barclays Premier League clubs but Zola claimed he will only offload any player in order to raise funds for new arrivals.
Zola refused to answer questions over West Ham's interest in Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh but moved to crush talk over his growing disillusionment.
"There has a lot of talk about that (quitting). It's not true," he said.
"I know the club is working and trying to make the team better but we are short.
"I haven't threatened the club that I would leave. It is not true.
"We're not really under pressure to sell players. Not for the moment. As far as I know, we are trying to reinforce the team.
"If we do anything, it is because we'd like to reinforce the team - as simple as that."
Zola insisted he enjoys a good relationship with West Ham's sporting director Gianluca Nani and chief executive Scott Duxbury, the people overseeing transfer policy at Upton Park.
"So far at this club I have a perfect understanding with Scott Duxberry and Gianluca Nani - we work very well," he said.
"All that you see here is a creation of all of us. It's a very good relationship and I trust this relationship.
"If something happens and I am not called to be asked, then it is going to be a different story but then I will tell you.
"To clarify it completely, I have been brought here to work on the pitch. That is my main concern.
"That is what I have been doing for 11 months. That is what I want to do. If someone has to be sold or bought, they ask me.
"I don't want to interfere in other things because I believe my main strength is working out there with the players."
West Ham face Tottenham at Upton Park on Sunday but Zola would not swap any of his big-spending London rival's players for his own.
"I'm not jealous of Harry Redknapp. I do respect and admire him, he had done a great job, but I wouldn't change my team with any other team," he said.
"To make it clear I wouldn't even change my team with Real Madrid or Barcelona - maybe! I like my players and I trust them.
"They are improving, working hard and doing everything to be successful. I admire these qualities in players."
