EXCLUSIVE: The replacement for Pim Verbeek as Socceroos coach might be under debate but one Europe-bound A-League star is keen for the FFA to stay Dutch.
Michael Zullo is preparing to pack his bags and head for the Netherlands where he will be joined at FC Utrecht by World Cup hopeful Tommy Oar and another former Brisbane Roar teammate Adam Sarota.
Numerous names have been suggested as potential successors to Verbeek with everyone from Galatasaray coach Frank Rikjard to former Parma boss Nevio Scala.
But with Zullo heading for Holland, he would love the FFA to continue its love affair with all things Dutch.
"From a personal point of view I'd love someone in there who knows all about the Dutch leagues and the Dutch way," Zullo told au.fourfourtwo.com.
"The current staff spoke highly about it (the Netherlands) and that's obviously a big factor when you are making a big decision to go overseas."
Meanwhile, Zullo is confident that all the 'will he or won't he be on the plane to South Africa' speculation surrounding Oar won't cause the youngster undue stress.
"I don't think Tommy will let that affect him. He knows what he's capable of and you just work hard and see what happens," said Zullo.
Zullo believes the move to Europe will enhance his own international prospects as he looks to build on the brief taste of green and gold that he has already enjoyed.
He addedL "The club (Utrecht) is pushing for a Europa League place and if they could get that, it would be a tremendous chance to gain experience in that competition.
"Hopefully you can then use that experience to help you progress (on the international front)."
