Raimondas Zutautas has resigned as coach of Lithuania, the country's football federation have confirmed.
Lithuania lost 4-1 to the Czech Republic last night, a result which meant they took just five points from their eight Group I games and also so saw their opponents reach the play-offs ahead of Scotland.
Zutautas told www.futbolas.lt: "We did not win as many points as we anticipated. I would like to thank the guys for their effort and the spectators who supported us at a difficult time.
"Since the targets were not met, I have decided to leave my post. I wish the next coach luck."
