"Welcome to our change room, Prime Minister..."
On the eve of their opening game against France three of the Socceroos’ senior players received World Cup well-wishes from the Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull via FaceTime.
Was Mark Milligan pumped up for the encounter? Could Timmy chip in with a few more goals. Were the French a bit too cocky? And what was happening with Mile's beard?
The PM had plenty of questions as he spoke with Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak, Tim Cahill and Mark Milligan from the team’s change room at AK Bars Kazan in the build-up to the Les Blues clash.
Joining the players for the call was FFA Chairman Steven Lowy and FFA CEO David Gallop.
