Former Australia skipper Mile Jedinak is adapting to a new life without the Socceroos – and shared his feelings with golden generation legend, Mark Schwarzer.
Jedi's 10-year international career saw him pick up the Asian Cup in 2015 and compete at three World Cups before he retired from the Socceroos after Russia 2018 with 79 caps and 20 goals.
He tells Schwarzer: "I'm still getting used to it actually. It's still quite raw.
"I made the decision and I stick by it – and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead."
But as for what he'd like to be remembered for, he joked: "It's either the boofy hair or the beard!"
He added: "I tried to lead by example, tried to be a team-mate above all.
"And you know, whenever I played in that shirt, it was never about myself.
"It was always about the green and gold."
