Even Cristiano Ronaldo's biggest critics are admitting his straight red this morning was harsh as Juventus beat Valencia 2-0 despite going down to 10 men after half an hour.
The Portuguese superstar was dismissed after an off the ball incident as he ran towards the Valencia box. The defender took a tumble and Ronaldo appeared to simply ruffle his hair in a cheeky response to his going to ground.
But the linesman saw it differently and after consulting with the ref, Ronaldo saw red. He left the pitch in tears and now faces a three game ban which could see him miss the clash against his old side Manchester United.
Meanwhile Ronaldo's other old side, Real Madrid were not missing their talisman in their return to the UCL with a 3-0 win over Roma, inclusing this stunning strike from Mariano.
