Belgium defender Vincent Kompany said Belgium matched France, but the odds were not in their favor leading to Didier Deschamps’ side winning 1-0 in the World Cup semi-final match in St. Petersburg.
“I do not feel like we played worse that France, we controlled the game, but the devil is in detail, and, unfortunately, the odds were not in our favor today" Kompany said post-match.
"I am very disappointed of course, but this is football, this is the game. Congratulations to France, they won. But the team that wins this tournament won’t be stronger than ours."
