Spain forward Diego Costa said he hoped he and Spain captain Cristiano Ronaldo would continue scoring in the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches.
Costa, who bagged a brace during his team’s 3-3 draw with Portugal, secured his team a 1-0 victory over Iran on Wednesday scoring the only goal, while Portugal captain Ronaldo took his tally to four for the tournament after his goal gave his country a win against Morocco.
"I have scored three goals, but winning is more important than scoring. The match [against Iran] was difficult. I hope that I and Cristiano [Ronaldo] will continue scoring," Costa told journalists.
Spain will face Morocco in their final group game on June 25.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
