France head coach Didier Deschamps said on Saturday that his side's striker Kylian Mbappe did not have a "special status" in the team.
19-year-old Mbappe who has scored three goals for his side at the World Cup is one of the candidates for the Golden Boot award at this summer's tournament.
"Kylian [Mbappe] is a hugely talented young player. He has proved it once again at the World Cup, but I don't have a special relationship with him. He's one of our players who does the same job as the others do. He doesn't have a special status... I pay more attention to the young players. Kylian is a very smart guy who knows what he wants," Deshamps told journalists.
France will play Croatia in the World Cup final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
