France head coach Didier Deschamps said on Friday that his players were better than their opponents Uruguay in their World Cup quarter-final match.
France beat Uruguay 2-0 in Nizhny Novgorod on Friday. Uruguay have been eliminated from the tournament.
"I think we deserved the result. We played against a beautiful Uruguayan side, but we were better than they were today, especially in the second half. We have a young team, we've already played together before, but the requirements today were higher. We could have played better," Deschamps told journalists.
France are through to the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Brazil-Belgium game.
