Sweden captain Andreas Granqvist says Germany's technical staff behaved poorly after the team's winning goal in their 2-1 defeat of Sweden on Saturday, but have apologised for the incident.
FIFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Germany's media officer Ulrich Voigt and German Football Association employee Georg Behlau after they pumped their fists following Toni Kroos’s stoppage-time goal that gave Germany the comeback win.
"I didn't see everything that happened there, but I've seen the photos and we heard from the players and managers afterwards that the Germans' behavior was very poor, but they did apologise. But of course, for a few hours afterwards the disappointment was very big," Granqvist told journalists.
Sweden head coach Janne Andersson confronted Voigt and Behlau on the pitch and later drew journalists' attention to their controversial gestures.
"If I hadn't responded there, I would've been absolutely dead emotionally. That was scornful, they were taunting us, it has nothing to do with football," Andersson said.
Sweden will play their last Group F match against Mexico at the Yekaterinburg Arena on Wednesday.
