Belgium defender Vincent Kompany said he is currently focused on advancing further in the World Cup, but admits he would have preferred to play Brazil in the decider, rather than the quarter-finals.
"We knew that we are choosing a difficult path by qualifying top of our group," Kompany said.
"I would rather have preferred to face Brazil in the final, but may this match be the last of such intensity for us.".
He added that even though the Brazil game will be a deciding moment for the tournament and will test the powers of his side, they will just try to do their best to advance to semi-finals and make their country proud.
Kompany missed his side's first few matches at the World Cup in Russia due to injury.
"The fact that I am here right now already makes me stronger and more confident" he added.
"You have to be psychologically strong to recover from the injury and get back on the field. It requires months of hard work in the gym, hard work recovering, and that is invisible for the outsiders. So yes, I am confident in myself."
Belgium will face Brazil in the quarter-final in Kazan on Saturday morning (AEST) after beating Japan 3-2 in the previous round.
