Japan head coach Akira Nishino said on Wednesday that his side had not yet shown what they are capable of at this summer's World Cup.
Group H leaders Japan, who beat Colombia 2-1 and played out a 2-2 draw with Senegal in their first two group-stage matches, will take on Poland, who have already been eliminated from the World Cup, in Volgograd on Thursday.
"We have good results so far, the players do not feel exhausted, I'm sure that in Japan all eyes are fixed on us. If we bring our country joy, then we'll try to continue doing it... We can play even better, we haven't yet shown our best performance at this World Cup," Nishino told journalists.
He added that Poland were not an unbeatable opponent and Japan could find a way through their defense by being flexible and agile.
