"These are preliminary estimates after three matches. Over 1,200 fans with special health care needs [attended the matches]," Zlokazov said.

According to the minister, the stands for wheelchair users were full as Uruguay beat Egypt 1-0 on June 15, France defeated Peru by the same scoreline on June 21, and Japan drew 2-2 with Senegal on Sunday at the 33,000-seater Yekaterinburg Arena.

Zlokazov added that special infrastructure for disabled people was created in Yekaterinburg ahead of the tournament, including entrances and stands and a parking zone, while the city also bought a total of 169 low-floor buses.
