Lokomotiv Moscow and Poland defender Maciej Rybus said Tuesday that the Polish national football team players only had themselves to blame for the two goals that they conceded during their World Cup encounter with Senegal.
Poland suffered a 2-1 defeat to Senegal in their Group H encounter in Moscow.
"The result was unexpected... We only have ourselves to blame for the two goals [that we conceded]. I don't even know what to say. The atmosphere at the World Cup is great, many Polish fans came... It's a pity we didn't manage to thank them [for their support] and make them happy," Rybus told journalists.
Poland are to face Colombia, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Japan, in their next World Cup encounter on Sunday before taking on Japan on June 28.
"We played very badly [against Senegal], we can play better. We have two matches to prove it. Our next match with Colombia will be a matter of life and death for both teams after our losses in the first round," Rybus added.
