England head coach Garth Southgate praised his side Monday night for their dedication in training, especially in attack, as they got their World Cup campaign off to a winning start.
England defeated Tunisia 2-1, with captain Harry Kane securing the victory in the stoppage time.
“We created a lot of clear-cut chances in the first half, as many as I can remember us having… In the second half we dominated the game, kept our patience and looked for good opportunities rather than throwing the ball in the box and hoping… Our attacking set plays were a threat all night, we’ve done a lot of work on them and I think we got just reward for that,” Southgate told journalists.
England are set to play against Panama and Belgium on Sunday and 28 June respectively.
