So simple, so clean - adidas' Telstar Mechta Official Match Ball from the 2018 World Cup is so brilliant in every way.
With any new ball, one of the key features is the look, so it's fair to say adidas nailed that job with the Telstar Mectha.
Used throughout the Knockout Stages all the way to the Final of the 2018 World Cup, its red colouring matched the red hot action.
Named the Telstar Mechta - meaning 'dreams' or 'ambitions in Russian - the ball paid tribute to the World Cup, and the ambitions of both players and the fans.
Down to tech specs - The Telstar Mectha has an all new carcass that retains the best of the Brazuca, 2014 World Cup Official Match Ball, while including new technology to maximise its performance.
A definite progression from past Official Match Balls by Adidas, the new ball features a new look panel design, boasting a metallic print execution and texture graphic effect.
At the core of the Telstar Mechta is sustainability, seeing adidas include recycled backing material and packaging.
Dean Lokes, VP Product from adidas, said, "The Telstar 18 was a huge step forward technically when it came to Official Match Balls. With the Telstar Mechta we have taken that same innovative design and re-imagined it, creating a ball that perfectly suits the pressures and opportunities of the FIFA World Cup knock-out stage.“
The Telstar Mechta is available now at adidas.com.au.
