While Sydney FC were in Japan for the International Women’s Club Championship, Melbourne Victory surged to the top of the W-League table with a 6-0 mauling of Newcastle Jets (8th). Brisbane (2nd) defeated Canberra United (4th) 1-0, and it was the same score when Perth (5th) downed Adelaide (6th).
