Pehrsson claims his side have nothing to lose as they go into the second leg of their UEFA Cup last-16 tie with City tomorrow, looking to overturn a 2-0 aggregate deficit.

The Danes were beaten by goals from Felipe Caicedo and Shaun Wright-Phillips in the first meeting at Eastlands last week.

Pehrsson said: "They have very good attacking players in Robinho, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Stephen Ireland.

"We have to close the field down; we can't focus on one player.

"But it is all about confidence and encouraging them to see the possibilities within this game.

"We have nothing to lose; Man City do. We have seen some parts in the last game where we could create chances and weak parts when they had a lot of counter-attacks."

Aalborg began the season with high hopes, after qualifying for the Champions League, but have had a modest campaign domestically.

They are fifth in Denmark's 12-team top division, some 15 points off the top, and drew with struggling Sonderjyske last weekend.

Yet Pehrsson, who joined the club mid-season after the departure of former Bolton, Arsenal and Wigan boss Bruce Rioch, oversaw a 6-1 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruna last month.

The Swede, who made one first-team appearance for Bradford during a brief loan in 1996, is hoping for another great European night at the Energi Nord Arena.

He said: "Manchester City are dangerous, but we just have to do a better job.

"In the last game we had a lot of possession and created some chances, so we have possibilities.

"We have had some great results in the past and hope we can recreate them."
