Despite this season’s success, Saad hasn't entertained any thoughts of coaching in the A-League and feels those kinds of ambitions are too premature.

“I am in a place where I want to be,” he said. “It’s early in my coaching career for me.

"I’ve been overseas for the last 10 years working on television as a football pundit so I’ve still been involved with football.

“But I want to be with the players on the ground. This is the start of my career. It’s been an enjoyable ride and I want to improve as a coach.

“Like the players, I am in a happy place at the moment at Sydney Olympic and hopefully I can continue to help these players reach their career goals.

“That’s my job here, to improve them and bring success to the club.”

After a scintillating performance in the 3-1 Grand Final win over APIA last weekend, Sydney Olympic take on Perth SC in the elimination round of NPL finals series.

The ultimate winner is not only crowned Australia’s best NPL side but is given automatic entry into the FFA Cup 2019 Final Rounds which gives clubs an even bigger incentive to win the title.

And ahead of the game at Lambert Park in Sydney this Sunday, Saad revealed the club was aiming for more silverware to add to this season’s collection.

“That’s a bonus,” he said.  “If we could lift the national series trophy it would be another proud moment. We will definitely give it our absolute best on the day.”
