Singapore Cup holders Tampines went ahead in the 41st minute when Sead Muratovic converted from the penalty spot after Abu Aqulah was dismissed for bringing down Sutee Suksomkit in the box.

But the Jordanians hit back with Moayad Abukeshek equalising on the stroke of half time and Siraj Al Tall heading home the winner 16 minutes from time.

Haidar Abdul-Amir could have opened the scoring for Al Faisaly after only a minute as he saw his glancing header hacked off the line while Abukeshek was given space to tee up a shot 12 metres from goal but volleyed wildly over the crossbar.

The home side spent much of the first half-hour in their own half and were fortunate to see Qusai Alieh's low shot in the 20th minute go narrowly wide, while Hassouneh Qasem's goal bound shot was valiantly blocked by a sliding Mustafic Fahruddin.

Having withstood the barrage, the hosts finally managed to create some chances of their own and should have taken the lead in the 39th minute when Noh Alam Shah broke down the right flank and centred for Mirko Grabovac but he steered the ball just wide of the far post.

The breakthrough would come two minutes later though when Tampines were awarded a penalty after Sutee was brought crashing down on the left edge of the Al Faisaly box by Aqulah, who was given his marching orders for his second yellow card offence.

Muratovic coolly drilled the ball down the middle as goalkeeper Loai Elamaireh dived to his left to put Tampines in front.

But the hosts were unable to hold their lead until half-time as Al Faisaly drew level in the second minute of stoppage time.

Mohammad Khamees played a short free kick to Haidar Abdul-Amir, who took the ball down the right flank before centring for Abukeshek, whose shot went through a crowd of players before going into the net off the left upright.

With Al Faisaly down to 10 men, the second half proved a more even contest.

Tampines could have restored their lead in the 55th minute when Sutee's cross from the left flank was met by a downward header by Ridhuan Muhammad that bounced off the ground and over the crossbar.

The ball was in the Tampines net two minutes later after Qusai Alieh's free-kick from near the left byline flew straight in but Japanese referee Hiroyoshi Takayama ruled it out for Qasem's foul on goalkeeper Rezal.

Alam Shah missed a gilt-edged opportunity for the hosts on 68 minutes when he glanced a cross by Sutee wide.

That miss would prove costly as the Jordanians went ahead six minutes later when Hassouneh's low cross from the left found Siraj Al Tall, who got in front of Hassan and stooped to head the visitors ahead.

The home side thought that they had levelled the score with four minutes remaining when Alam Shah dived to head home Muratovic's cross from the right but the effort was ruled out for offside.

The Singapore international striker would have the ball in the net again a minute late off another Muratovic cross but while the assistant referee's flag stayed down this time, the referee waved off the goal for an apparent foul on the goalkeeper.
