Nantawat Thaensopa hit four goals as Krung Thai Bank posted a thrilling 5-3 win over Beijing Guoan at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.
Already-eliminated Krung ended their Asian Champions League Group F campaign in stunning style, racing into a 5-1 lead.
Beijing rallied, however, and a Tiago Honorio hat-trick made the scoreline a touch more respectable at the final whistle.
The defeat extinguished the Chinese side's hopes of reaching the quarter-finals while Krung finish the group in third place after two wins.
Having been soundly beaten by group winners Kashima Antlers last time out, Krung looked up for their final group game and went in front after 12 minutes when Peeraphong Pichitchotirat played in Nantawat who fired home after beating two defenders.
Krung went 2-0 up just short of the half-hour when Phichitphong Choeichiu played in Peeraphong who netted at the second attempt after Yang Zhi had saved his initial effort.
And it was three at the break when Kassim Kone saw an effort saved by the advancing Yang and Nantawat was on hand to fire into the empty net.
Krung went further ahead after 49 minutes when Nantawat slid home Tanat's cross from the left to complete his treble.
Beijing made it 4-1 after 68 minutes when Martinez was brought down in the box by Supachai Komsilp and Tiago fired home the spot-kick.
But Krung made it five moments later when when Nantawat exchanged passes with Yuttana Chaikaew before firing low into the net.
Tiago grabbed his second of the game after 70 minutes with an angled drive before grabbing his third from the penalty spot eight minutes later after the striker had been hauled down in the box.
