Takahiro Futagawa thought he had stolen all three points for the J League side when he fired them in front with 15 minutes remaining.

However, they were pegged back when Yoo Jun Yeon converted a penalty five minutes from time.

With qualification to the quarter-finals already secured for Gamba the game got off to a slow start.

Shoki Hirai had the first chances of the game for the Japanese side around the half-hour mark, but both efforts were turned away by Chunnam goalkeeper Cho Min Hyuck.

Chunnam's only chance of the first half came in the 39th minute when Ju Kwang-Youn forced Gamba goalkeeper Naoki Matsuyo into a save with a shot from outside the area.

The game picked up in the second half as Hirai rattled the bar from the edge of the box soon after the break, before Brazilian forward Bare almost made an immediate impact after coming on as a substitute when he set up Masato Yamazaki to fire wide in the 71st minute.

Yoo hit the bar a minute later as a goal for either side looked like being decisive.

Then in the 75th minute Futagawa found the breakthrough when he fired home from close range.

Chunnam kept pressing for an equaliser, however, and found it when Lee Kyu Ro went to ground under a challenge from Futagawa.

Yoo stepped up to level from the spot with only five minutes left on the clock.
