ADELAIDE United have ruled out a call-up for shamed Socceroo 'keeper Mark Bosnich to replace injured glovesman Daniel Beltrame.
Beltrame looks set to be out for up to six weeks with a ripped quad muscle after tearing it in the weekend's 4-1 thrashing of Wellington Phoenix.
If the injury is confirmed by an MRI scan, it would open the door for the Reds to sign a replacement to fill in while Beltrame recovers.
But Adelaide coach Aurelio Vidmar has dismissed suggestions they may make a move for Bosnich, who has recently been training with Queen's Park Rangers in the UK.
"Bozza's (Bosnich) been a great keeper," Vidmar told the Adelaide Advertiser. "Unfortunately his career went in different directions.
"Mark wouldn't be someone that we're interested in."
However it could mean a recall for former Queensland Roar 'keeper Scott Higgins who filled in for Robert Bajic earlier this season.
Beltrame revealed how he had to be helped from the field after going to dive for a shot but felt the thigh muscle give way.
"I went to do a drop kick in the second half of the game," Beltrame said. "I felt a bit of a pop and a bit of release.
"I guess that was it. I thought I was all right but they got a free kick minute or two later.
"As it came around, I tried to make a dive but I couldn't go anywhere. They reckon that the top of my quad muscle is torn."
