The Germany international is surplus to requirements at Bayern Munich after disappointing since joining on a free transfer from Bremen last summer.

Bremen, who appear to be cooling their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach's Marko Marin, have been linked with a the 29-year-old and Neubauer admits his client would welcome a return to the club.

"That would be a great story for Tim," he told the Kreiszeitung Syke newspaper.

"We will have to see if a deal can be done or not."

Borowski was signed by Bayern by their former coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who had given the midfielder his break with the national team.

However, he was never able to hold down a regular starting berth in the Bayern team, neither under Klinsmann nor his successor Jupp Heynckes, and started only five games.

He did manage five goals, though in a total of 26 appearances, mainly coming from the bench.
