Fury leaked five against Central Coast Mariners last week and spurned numerous opportunities at the other end of the pitch.

Agius said there hadn't been as much focus on Fury's defensive lapses as he had expected and the emphasis had been on the team's lack of attacking potency.

"We had a good talk about it on Monday and we know we're a better team than the result showed," Agius said. "One of the things we spoke about was how important it is for us to put our chances away.

"If you watched the game, we had a lot of chances and we could have levelled the game up if we'd put a few away and then gone on with it."

Agius was recalled to the Fury starting side for the Central Coast clash after a month out of the picture.

He put his selection down to hard work on the training paddock and is keen to hold his spot this week for Fury's third meeting with Adelaide

"It's always good to start. That's what we all want to do here, " he said. "The last couple of weeks I've just put my nose down and worked hard and obviously earned my spot in the team and hopefully I can get another start this week."

The 25-year-old said the chance to put things right with a second consecutive match at home was good for the team and for Fury's growing supporter base.

"It's good for the crowd. We had a good crowd on the weekend and obviously they want us to put in a good performance against Adelaide," he added.

"A few other results went our way on the weekend. Other teams near the bottom obviously didn't win so we're still there and we're three points off sixth spot so if we can get the goals to go in and get the results we can go up the ladder."
