ATLETICO Madrid striker Sergio Aguero believes his side can be even more successful this season than last.
Atletico began last season poorly but ended the campaign in style by winning the Europa League and getting to the final of the Copa del Rey.
Quique Sanchez Flores' side can pick up more silverware on Friday when they face Inter Milan in the European Super Cup, and Aguero hopes that is the start of another fruitful campaign.
"Practically no players have left. All of us from last year, when we got to two finals, are here, and this year, with the players we have brought in, we can do a lot more," he told reporters today.
Last season's treble winners Inter will represent a difficult opponent on Friday, but Aguero believes his side can beat anyone on their day.
He continued: "We are capable of squaring up to any team with our confidence and winning mentality. It will be a great game."
The Argentina forward, who has been linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past, also reiterated his desire to remain at Atletico.
"I have told the club that I want to stay here, so they will sort out with my agent whether to renew my contract or not. I don't get involved with that," he said.
"But as I have always said, I'm happy and when the club needs to sell me for the money, they will do. But right now they don't want to and I'm here."
