To see Scotland and Italy in training...

The Scots are training by Loch Lomond for Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against the reigning world champions.

There are no injury concerns in the 25-man squad, and Aitken said this morning: "The spirit is really high.

"Everyone's motivated for the game and there is a sense of anticipation there.

"We are out to get the three points, the same as we were against Ukraine and Lithuania.

"This time there is a prize at the end and that's the difference.

"But there will be the same relaxed attitude which has served us well until now."

Victory against Italy is the result which Scotland need to secure their place at Euro 2008 on Saturday, and a draw will mean all eyes turn to next Wednesday's clash between Ukraine and France in Kiev.

Scotland would be willing Ukraine to victory, knowing a point for France would be enough to ensure 'Les Bleus' qualify from Group B ahead of Alex McLeish's side.

Aitken was glad the Scottish Premier League agreed to postpone last weekend's matches involving Rangers and Celtic, ensuring the national team would avoid injuries to several key men.

Aitken said at the Cameron House hotel base: "They are all fit and ready to go.

"It was nice for the Old Firm guys to have a break and they enjoyed that.

"Everyone else is fine and has played enough football to be ready.

"We wouldn't name the team as early as now because there are still several training sessions to go and anything can happen.

"But I'm sure Alex will know in his own mind what the team selection will be.

"It's a very strong-looking squad and confidence is high."
