NORTH Queensland Fury import Eric Akoto is facing a probable six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a a torn right medial meniscus in the weekend's game against Gold Coast United.
The defender will this week undergo an arthroscopy to repair the damage but the club won't know the full extent of the injury or the length of his lay-off until he's undergone the operation.
The former Togo International came off in the 19th minute of this match and scans also revealed he has a grade 2 tear of the medial ligament.
A club spokesman added: "Until the operation has been performed and the full extent of the injury as been ascertained, no timeframe can be put on the recovery period, however it is likely to be at least six weeks."
